In the above photo, Rodney Young, Tactical52 Senior Instructor demonstrates the proper wanding (hand-held device) technique used for a patient (role player) on a stretcher. The complex, dense metallic structure of these devices (stretchers and wheelchairs) makes it difficult to isolate hidden contraband, and so, the participants are shown the limitations and the necessity to approach these challenges in a copious and attentive manner. The training programs, simulations, and hands-on exercises build staff confidence, preparedness, and resilience.
